5K Run/Walk and 1/4 mile Kids’ Fun Run July 13, 2019

Kid’s Race starts at 9:30-Free!

Register online or at the race site – be prepared and come with your registration already filled out!  Note price increase for day-of-race registrants.  Save money by joining South Coast Running Club.

This race is the second race of the Triple Crown series, for $30, you can do all three July races and get a cool, interlocking medal at each.

Kid’s Dash – Free!

Cost for Members:  5K – $15.00, Day of race – $20.00

Cost of Non-Members: 5K a – $25.00, Day of race – $30.00

Family Membership price – $15.00 for 2-3 members, $5 for each additional family member (day-of-race registration only)

We keep prices low and do not include t-shirts, but it’s fun to show off your accomplishment!  T-shirts and Bondi Bands are available for purchase before July 1.  The T-shirts are organic cotton, featuring a porcupine with a purple shore crab stuck to it’s foot – that’s right, you can be a nature nerd AND athletic!  $18 for kids, $12 for adults.  The bondi bands come in yellow and black and will also be available race day as supplies last, $9.

What

Run where the river meets the sea, along vast tidal flats, extensive marshes and meandering channels.

The course is technical trails, boardwalks, hills (300’ change in elevation) on Reserve property, four miles east of Charleston. Volunteers will be stationed along the trails and courses will be clearly marked to make your experience more enjoyable. Please leave pets at home.

Participation ribbons for Kid’s Dash (about 0.25 mile), 1st-3rd place for each age group male/female (5k run/walk) with South Slough patches awarded to overall kids dash, 5k run and walk male and female winners. All participants receive an estuary-themed participation medal and Rice Krispy treat.  Yum!

Why

Proceeds go to the Friends of South Slough Reserve, Inc., (FOSS) a non-profit organization in support of Reserve education fund for internship stipends.
